We have a High-Level Conference on May 7th for The European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan.
SEE President Juan Antonio Pedreño has been invited by PT Prime Minister and PT Ambassador Permanent Representative to the EU to participate in Porto Social Summit, to be held this Friday 7 May in Porto, followed by an Informal Meeting of Heads of State and Government the next day.
Mr, Pedreño, nor our Vice-Presidents are able to attend. Therefore, the President has asked have asked SEE director, Victor Meseguer, to represent SEE in Porto on this important occasion. Therefore, SEE director Victor Meseguer will take the floor in workshop 1 on work and employment. SEE will defend: Quality jobs creation through the social economy: empowerment, collective and cooperative entrepreneurship, gender equality, equal opportunities for all and inclusion of the most disadvantaged people through wises.
The Action Plan aims to effectively implement the European Pillar of Social Rights, which is made up of 20 principles to guide the construction of a stronger, fairer and more inclusive Europe that is filled with opportunities:
This plan is designed to organise the actions to be taken by the Commission in order to effectively implement the principles of the Pillar, as requested by the European leaders in the Strategic Agenda for 2019-2024, agreed at the European Council in June 2019.
The Action Plan proposes three goals to be reached in Europe by 2030. These goals reflect the common ambition of the European Commission and the Member States and update the goals of the Europe 2020 Strategy.
Measures proposed in the Action Plan for the European Pillar of Social Rights aim to: To creat “more and better jobs”, to promote “qualifications and equality” and to impromove “social protection and inclusion”.
