On 12th September 2023 a Social Economy Intergroup took place in Strasbourg to discuss the Council Recommendation On Developing Social Economy Framework Conditions published by the Commission on June 13.
The event consisted on two round tables and counted on the participation of Véronique Bertholle, Deputy Mayor of Strasbourg, Patrizia Toia, MEP (S&D, IT) and co-President of the Social Economy Intergroup, Claude Gruffat, MEP (Greens/EFA, FR) and co-President of the Social Economy Intergroup, Juan Antonio Pedreño, President of SEE and CEPES, Giuseppe Guerini, President of CECOP and member of the EESC, Victor Meseguer, Special Commissioner for Social Economy in Spain, Jérôme Saddier, President of ESS France and Vice-President of SEE, Aude Saldana, Secretary General of GSEF and Antoine Dubois, Vice-President of the Strasburg Eurometropole in charge of the social economy as speakers.
The first round table, moderated by Sarah de Heusch, Director of SEE, analysed the recommendation from the viewpoint of European institutions and SE representatives at European level, while the second one, moderated by Alain Coheur, Vice-President of SEE, was focused on the views of national, local and SE actors themselves.
The event took place at Kaleidoscoop, a third space at the border of France and Germany and was followed by approximately 100 people in-person and online of which a few MEP. We are grateful to see such interest on the topic.

All the speakers in the debate call upon Member States to adopt an ambitious version of the recommendation to Council on developing social economy framework conditions.
