Social Economy Europe (SEE) wishes you  happy holidays and a happy New Year 2023, and we thank you for your cooperation and for sharing a common vision in which all social economy entities -cooperatives, mutuals, associations, charities, foundations, social enterprises and other legal forms- contribute to build a European and global economy that works for people and the planet. A proximity economy which reinvests profits in the local communities, that drives innovation, inclusion and strengthens resilience.

Last 7 December SEE and the Social Economy Intergroup organised the event 1 year of the Social Economy Action Plan, and 10 years of SEE: for an economy that works for people & planet.

SEE wishes to thank all speakers and participants, as well as the sponsors of the event FEBEA (the European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks and Financiers) and Groupe VYV (French group of mutual insurers).

🎥You can watch the recording of the event above.

📝An in depth report of the event will be disseminated in the coming days.

2022 has been an intense year for the European Social Economy because of many reasons:

– The launch of the Social Economy Action Plan (SEAP) in December 2022 & EP report on SEAP, led by Jordi Cañas MEP.
– French Presidency of the Council and Strasbourg EU conference The Social Economy: the future of Europe.
– The launch of the Transition Pathway on proximity and social economy, and the current call for pledges (deadline 28/02/2023).
– And the tragic war in Ukraine, which has triggered a solidarity movement led by many citizens, associations, instutions and soicial economy entities. An intolerable russian agression that jeopardizes the daily life of ukrainians and that has broken a long period of peace in Europe, impacting into our economies and way of living.

2023 will be the European Year of Skills, and again a year of critical importance with the Council Recommendation on social economy, the Single Gateway, the emergence of Social Economy Ukraine, the Spanish Presidency of the Council and its European Social Economy Conference on 13-14 November in San Sebastian, or the second edition of the EU Social Economy Awards

SEE wishes a happy New Year 2023
