Yesterday, Thursday 29 July 2021, Social Economy Europe (SEE) President Juan Antonio Pedreño, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the President of Hefame Group Enrique Ayuso to support the European Social Economy Awards 2021, at Hefame premises in the city of Murcia.
In this sense, Hefame Foundation -as part of the Hefame Cooperative Group- becomes the first official sponsor of the EU Social Economy Awards.
Hefame is one of Spain’s largest cooperative groups devoted to the distribution and production of pharmaceutical and para pharmaceutical products to its associates. With a total turnover of 1,411 million euros, 11.03% of the market share in Spain and 1,071 employees, Hefame Group is a pioneering cooperative, ensuring that pharmaceutical products arrive on time to its members -the pharmacies- all over Spain’s Mediterranean region (including rural and less populated areas). Furthermore, Hefame Group is highly engaged in favour of social economy’s development and has been awarded for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), environmental and equality policies. The Hefame Foundation provides health professionals with the means to promote health sciences. Committed to society, it supports training projects useful for human development.
The MoU was signed by the Presidents of both organisations in the presence of Carlos Fernández (Secretary of Hefame Foundation), Maria Enriqueta Fernández (Director of the Hefame Foundation), Victoria Fernández (Director of Communications at Hefame Group), Víctor Meseguer (Director of SEE) and Laura Almirante (Director of Communications at UCOMUR- Union of Workers’ Cooperatives of the Region of Murcia).
Other institutions and enterprises such as the Region of Murcia and CAJAMAR Cooperative Group have confirmed their willingness to become sponsors of the EU Social Economy Awards and similar MoU’s will be signed in the coming weeks.
